The Tiffen 4 x 5.65" Softnet White 1 Filter is a softening filter designed to reproduce the effect of a silk veil placed in front of the lens to soften or diffuse light. This filter works by scattering the light entering the lens through a mesh pattern, producing an overall soft glow. The white designation provides even diffusion and contrast reduction throughout the scene. Density 1 produces less softening than density 2.

Tiffen filters are manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that laminates the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass and polishes it flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch. This filter measures 4 x 5.65" / 101.6 x 143.5mm.
