The Tiffen 4 x 5.65" 2 Tropic Blue Graduated Soft Edge Filter helps to specifically add cool blue-green colouration to skies and other bright areas of an image whilst allowing a portion of the image to remain neutrally coloured.

The filter's colouration is densest at the edge and tapers to clear by the middle, with a smooth transition between the density and clear areas. The 2 colour density provides less intense tropic blue colouration than the 3 density, but more than the 1 density filter.

This filter is made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between two pieces of optical glass and grinding them flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch. It measures 4 x 5.65" / 101.6 x 143.5 mm.

The transition line of a horizontally-oriented filter is parallel to the long side of the filter.
It provides deep blue-green colouration to certain areas of the image.

The filter's graduated design keeps a portion of the image neutral, giving a more realistic appearance whilst allowing the sky or other bright areas to take on the colour of the density.
