The Tiffen Black Satin 2 4 x 5.65" filter can be used to intentionally reduce the appearance of blemishes and wrinkles.

This can be useful for creating a more flattering result of a subject whilst highlights are softened, contrast is reduced and textures take on a smoother appearance.

Additionally, a halo effect around highlights is created, which can further enhance the appearance of a subject or produce a desired effect whilst maintaining overall sharpness.

This filter has a grade of 2. Grades 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 2, 3, 4 and 5 are also available, with the effect of this type of filter becoming approximately twice as strong with each increase in grade number.

This filter is manufactured from Water White glass for better clarity and colour fidelity.

It is manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass and grinding it flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch.
