The Tiffen Black Satin 3 4 x 5.65" Filter can be used to intentionally reduce the appearance of blemishes and wrinkles.

This can be helpful in creating a more flattering result of a subject whilst softening highlights, reducing contrast and giving textures a smoother appearance.

Additionally, a halo effect around highlights is created, which can further enhance the appearance of a subject or produce a desired effect whilst maintaining overall sharpness.

This filter has a grade of 3. Grades of 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 2, 3, 4 and 5 are also available, with the effect of this type of filter becoming approximately twice as strong with each increase in grade number.

This filter is constructed from water white glass for increased clarity as well as colour fidelity.

It is manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass and grinding it flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch.
