Tiffen 46mm ND 1.2 Attenuator/Gradient
The Tiffen 46mm 1.2 Graduated Neutral Density Attenuator/Gradient filter is densest at one edge where it corresponds to a 4-stop reduction of light entering the lens and tapers to clear at the other edge. Its graduation can be used to selectively darken an image from one edge to the other, allowing for wider apertures or reduced shutter speeds. Whilst the 1.2 density of this graduated attenuator/gradient can be applied to bright skies, other regions of the image are exposed with a progressively decreasing effect. This filter is constructed using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between two pieces of optical glass, grinding it flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, and then mounting it in precision metal rings. Features - Densest at one edge where it corresponds to a 4-stop reduction of light entering the lens and tapers to clear at the other edge - Darkens bright areas of an image, such as skies, whilst other regions of the image are exposed with a progressively decreasing effect - Maximum density of 1.2 corresponds to a 16x filter factor and a 4-stop exposure reduction - Constructed from optical glass for optimal clarity - Uncoated - Aluminium alloy filter ring for durability whilst remaining lightweight - Rotating filter ring allows positioning of the graduation along the horizon line - 46mm front thread allows use with other filters
