Tiffen 46 mm Attenuator/Graduated ND 0.6
The Tiffen 46 mm 0.6 Neutral Density Attenuator/Graduated filter is denser at one edge where it corresponds to a 2-stop reduction of light entering the lens and gradually fades to transparent at the other edge. Its gradation can be used to selectively darken an image from one edge to another, allowing wider apertures or slower shutter speeds. Whilst the 0.6 density of this attenuator/graduated filter can be applied to bright skies, other regions of the image are exposed with a progressively decreasing effect.
This filter is constructed using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between two pieces of optical glass, grinding it flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, then mounting it in precision metal rings.
Features
- Denser at one edge where it corresponds to a 2-stop reduction of light entering the lens and gradually fades to transparent at the other edge
- Darkens bright areas of an image, such as skies, whilst other regions of the image are exposed with a progressively decreasing effect
- Maximum density of 0.6 corresponds to a filter factor of 4x and an exposure reduction of 2 stops
- Constructed from optical glass for clarity
- Uncoated
- Aluminium alloy filter ring for durability whilst remaining lightweight
- Rotating filter ring allowing the gradation to be positioned along the horizon line
- 46 mm front thread allowing use with other filters
