Tiffen 52mm Graduated Attenuator/ND 1.2
The Tiffen 52mm 1.2 Graduated Neutral Density Attenuator/Graduated Filter is denser on one edge where it corresponds to a reduction of light entering the lens by 4 stops and gradually clears to become transparent on the other edge. Its gradation can be used to selectively darken an image from one edge to another, allowing for wider apertures or reduced shutter speeds. Whilst the 1.2 density of this attenuator/graduated filter can be applied to bright skies, other areas of the image are exposed with a progressively decreasing effect.
This filter is manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between two pieces of optical glass, grinding it flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, then mounting it in precision metal rings.
Features
- Denser on one edge where it corresponds to a reduction of light entering the lens by 4 stops and gradually clears to become transparent on the other edge
- Darkens bright areas of an image, such as skies, whilst other areas of the image are exposed with a progressively decreasing effect
- Maximum density of 1.2 corresponding to a 16x filter factor and a 4-stop exposure reduction
- Manufactured from optical glass for optimum clarity
- Uncoated
- Aluminium alloy filter ring for durability whilst remaining lightweight
- Rotating filter ring allowing the gradation to be positioned along the horizon line
- 52mm front thread allowing use with other filters
