Tiffen 55mm Attenuator/Graduated ND 1.2
The Tiffen 55mm 1.2 Graduated Neutral Density Attenuator/Graduated Filter is denser on one edge where it corresponds to a 4-stop reduction of light entering the lens and fades to clear on the other edge. Its graduation can be used to selectively darken an image from one edge to the other, allowing wider apertures or reduced shutter speeds. Whilst the 1.2 density of this graduated attenuator/graduated filter can be applied to bright skies, other regions of the image are exposed with a progressively decreasing effect. This filter is constructed using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between two pieces of optical glass, grinding it flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, and then mounting it in precision metal rings. Features - Denser on one edge where it corresponds to a 4-stop reduction of light entering the lens and fading to clear on the other edge - Darkens bright areas of an image, such as skies, whilst other regions of the image are exposed with a progressively decreasing effect - Maximum density of 1.2 corresponds to a filter factor of 16x and a 4-stop exposure reduction - Made from optical glass for greater clarity - Uncoated - Aluminium alloy filter ring for durability whilst remaining lightweight - Rotating filter ring allows positioning of the graduation along the horizon line - 55mm front thread allows use with other filters
