Tiffen 58mm Attenuator/Graduated ND 0.6
The Tiffen 58mm 0.6 Graduated Neutral Density Attenuator/Graduated Filter is densest at one edge where it corresponds to a 2-stop reduction of light entering the lens and gradually lightens until it becomes transparent at the other edge. Its gradation can be used to selectively darken an image from one edge to the other, allowing wider apertures or reduced shutter speeds. Whilst the 0.6 density of this attenuator/graduated filter can be applied to bright skies, other regions of the image are exposed with a progressively decreasing effect.
This filter is manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between two pieces of optical glass, grinding it flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, and then mounting it in precision metal rings.
