Tiffen 82 mm Attenuator/Graduated ND 1.2
The Tiffen 82 mm 1.2 Neutral Density Graduated Attenuator/Grad Filter is denser at one edge where it corresponds to a 4-stop reduction of light entering the lens and fades to clear at the other edge. Its graduation can be used to selectively darken an image from one edge to the other, allowing for larger apertures or reduced shutter speeds. While the 1.2 density of this attenuator/grad filter can be applied to bright skies, other regions of the image are exposed with a progressively decreasing effect. This filter is manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between two pieces of optical glass, grinding it flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, and then mounting it in precision metal rings. Features - Denser at one edge where it corresponds to a 4-stop reduction of light entering the lens and fades to clear at the other edge - Darkens bright areas of an image, such as skies, whilst other regions of the image are exposed with a progressively decreasing effect - Maximum density of 1.2 corresponds to a filter factor of 16x and a 4-stop exposure reduction - Made from optical glass for clarity - Uncoated - Aluminium alloy filter ring for durability whilst remaining lightweight - Rotating filter ring allows positioning of the graduation along the horizon line - 82 mm front thread allows use with other filters
