Tiffen 52 mm Red 29
The Tiffen 52 mm #29 Dark Red Filter is a filter designed to enhance contrast in black and white photography and tonal separation. In landscape photography, clear skies are darkened and, when combined with a polariser, very extreme contrast is added to the image. Many forensic photographers use the #29 red filter as it absorbs blue colours and enhances red. Therefore, the filter helps to find evidence. Infrared images are also enhanced, giving a more pronounced effect and appearance by making foliage appear white. The red filter is ideal for copying blueprints, as it enhances lines and makes the image easier to view. It has a filter factor of 16.5, so you need to increase your exposure by 4 1/3 stops to compensate. Tiffen filters are not tinted, but are manufactured using ColorCore technology. This process laminates the filter material between two pieces of optical glass, then the glass is ground and polished. The glass is then mounted on the metal ring, which can then be screwed onto the lens to achieve the desired effect. Features - High contrast and tonal separation - Makes skies dramatic and darker - Stronger than a #25 red filter - ColorCore technology
