Tiffen 62mm blue 47B
A Tiffen 62mm 47B dark blue colour balancing filter is a deep blue filter that accentuates haze and fog. It is also used in dye transfer printing, for contrast effects and colour separation, and trichrome work (lightens blue tones). Tiffen ColorCore glass is produced by a process that permanently laminates the filter material between two optical glass plates, polished to a tolerance of one ten-thousandth of an inch, and then mounted in precision aluminium rings. Tiffen ColorCore glass is sealed between two optical glass plates. In this way, Tiffen can better control the different densities of their filters and thus create more precise degrees of filtration. This process allows for greater colour accuracy compared to simply tinted glass, which may be subject to variations during the tinting process.
