Tiffen 77mm 6 Yellow 1
A 77mm #6 light yellow filter from Tiffen is used for a slight increase in contrast with black-and-white films. Whilst not as strong as a traditional #8 yellow, it can still be used to make a difference to your photography. You will find that it increases your contrast enough to make the difference between a black-and-white print that appears "flat" and one that displays proper correction.
Tiffen's ColorCore glass is produced by a process that involves permanently laminating the filter material between two pieces of optical glass polished to tolerances of one ten-thousandth of an inch, then mounting them in precision aluminium rings.

- Particularly useful for adding contrast between a blue sky with clouds and the foreground
- Tiffen's ColorCore glass is sealed between two sheets of optical glass. In this way, Tiffen can better control the different densities of its filters and thus create more precise degrees of filtration. This process allows for greater colour accuracy compared to simply tinted glass which can be subject to deviations during the tinting process.
