The filter has a filter factor of 4, so to compensate, you need to increase the exposure by two stops. Tiffen filters are not tinted, but are manufactured using ColorCore technology. This process laminates the filter material between two pieces of optical glass, then the glass is polished and ground. The glass is then mounted on the metal ring, which can then be screwed onto the lens to achieve the desired effect.
