A Tiffen 82mm 47B Deep Blue Colour Balancing filter is a dark blue filter that accentuates haze and fog. It is also used in dye transfer printing, for contrast effects and colour separation, as well as for three-colour work (lightens blue tones).
Tiffen's ColorCore glass is produced through a process that permanently laminates the filter material between two optical glass plates, ground flat to a tolerance of one ten-thousandth of an inch, then mounted in precision aluminium rings.

- Tiffen's ColorCore glass is sealed between two optical glass plates. In this way, Tiffen can better control the different densities of their filters and thus create more precise degrees of filtration. This process allows for greater colour accuracy compared to glass that is simply tinted and may experience deviations during the colouring process
