Tiffen 82mm Yellow 12
The Tiffen 82mm Yellow #12 Filter is a filter designed to increase contrast and tonal separation in black and white photography. The filter absorbs blue colours, making blues appear darker. Haze is minimised for aerial photography and excess blue is removed for astrophotography. The Yellow #12 Filter is recommended as a basic filter for use with Kodak Aero Ektachrome infrared film. The filter has a filter factor of 2, so you need to increase your exposure by one full stop to compensate.
Tiffen filters are not tinted but are made using ColorCore technology. This process laminates the filter material between two pieces of optical glass and grinds and polishes the glass. The glass is then mounted on the metal ring, which can then be screwed onto the lens to achieve the desired effect.
