The Tiffen 49mm 81EF Light Balancing Filter reduces the colour temperature by 650K to slightly warm the image to match the colour quality of lighting. By using an 81EF filter, you can achieve a 3200K balance when the dominant light source is 3850K. The warming effect of this filter requires a 0.6-stop exposure increase to achieve normal results.
This filter is manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding it flat to a tolerance of one ten-thousandth of an inch, then mounting it on precision metal rings.
