The Tiffen 58mm 82A colour balancing filter allows you to increase the colour temperature by 200K to slightly cool the image to match the colour quality of the lighting. By using an 82A filter, you can achieve a balance of 3200K when the dominant light source is 3000K. The cooling effect of this filter requires an exposure increase of 0.3 stops for normal results.
This filter is manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that laminates the filter substrate between 2 optical glass plates, grinds it to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, and then mounts it on precision metal rings.
