The Tiffen 62 mm 82A Light Balancing Filter increases the colour temperature by 200K to slightly cool the image to match the colour quality of the lighting. When using an 82A filter, you can achieve a 3200K balance when the dominant light source is 3000K. The cooling effect of this filter requires an exposure increase of 0.3 stop for normal results.
This filter is manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding it flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, and then mounting it on precision metal rings.
