The Tiffen 82mm 82A light balancing filter increases the colour temperature by 200K to slightly cool the image to match the colour quality of the lighting. By using an 82A filter, you can achieve a balance of 3200K when the dominant light source is 3000K. The cooling effect of this filter requires an exposure increase of 0.3 stop for normal results.
This filter is manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that laminates the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, polishes it flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, then mounts it onto precision metal rings.
