Tiffen 37MM Black Pro-Mist 1/4
It is easy to understand why Black Pro-Mists have been so successful for over 30 years. Their unique contrast layering combined with a misty, painterly halation works as a variation on the standard halation diffusion effect. Even at its lowest density, it produces an effective increase in halation that adds a pleasant depth of warmth without affecting skin tone values. These characteristics become more apparent when using densities of 1/4 and above.
At higher densities, the diffusion is quite aggressive with practical light, with the warm tonality becoming more apparent. Yet, the subtle but effective appearance continues to make the pro mist filter a staple for many directors of photography in the digital world.
