Tiffen 49MM Black Pro-Mist 2
The Tiffen 49mm Black Pro-Mist 2 filter helps to reduce highlight values whilst slightly decreasing overall contrast. This filter is particularly useful for smoothing and softening facial wrinkles and other imperfections. Although designed for cinematographic use, this filter can also be used for fashion and beauty applications. Unlike traditional diffusion or blur filters, Pro-Mist filters result in little loss of detail in the image. The density 2 offers more contrast and highlight reduction than the 1, but less than the 3, whilst allowing a soft, pastel light quality.
Tiffen filters are manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding it to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, and then mounting it on precision metal rings.
