The Tiffen 67mm Black Pro-Mist 2 filter helps reduce highlight values whilst slightly lowering overall contrast. This filter is particularly useful for smoothing and softening facial wrinkles and other imperfections. Whilst designed for cinematographic use, this filter can also be used for fashion and beauty applications. Unlike a traditional diffusion or soft focus filter, Pro-Mist filters result in only minimal loss of detail across the entire image. Density 2 provides more contrast and highlight reduction than density 1, but less than density 3, whilst allowing for a soft, pastel light quality. Tiffen filters are manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding it flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, and then mounting it on precision metal rings.
