Tiffen 49MM Digital Diffusion FX 1/2
The Tiffen 49mm Digital Diffusion/FX 1/2 filter is a softening and diffusion filter specially designed to be invisible, as if no filtration were applied. Compared to other diffusion filters, this filter offers virtually no flare or loss of contrast for more subtle applications. It helps reduce facial blemishes, wrinkles and gently softens textured backgrounds whilst maintaining sharp focus. The 1/2 density provides more softening than 1/4, but less than 1.
This filter is manufactured from Water White glass and is made using ColorCore technology, a process which involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding it flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, then mounting it in precision metal rings.
