The Tiffen 49mm Digital Diffusion/FX 5 filter is a softening and diffusion filter specifically designed to appear invisible, as if no filtration were applied. Compared to other diffusion filters, this filter offers virtually no flare or contrast loss for more subtle applications. It helps to soften facial imperfections, wrinkles and gently smooth textured backgrounds whilst maintaining sharp focus. Density 5 offers more softening than 4.
This filter is manufactured from Water White glass and uses ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding it flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, then mounting it on precision metal rings.
