The Tiffen 52mm Soft/FX 3 Digital HT filter diffuses bright light entering the lens and produces a luminous effect. Although the resulting image appears softer and more ethereal, there is little loss of sharpness or detail. This filter works by diffusing the light entering the lens with small aberrations; by distributing the light more evenly, a soft glow is created rather than the sharp and well-defined image obtained without a filter. This filter has a density of 3, offering a moderate level of softening.
The Digital HT coating is a high-transmission multi-layer coating that exceeds military specifications for hardness and durability. This optical purity combined with high scratch resistance provides an easy-to-clean filter with superior image quality. They also feature low-profile titanium filter rings for increased strength and reduced vignetting.
