The Tiffen 82mm Digital Diffusion/FX 1/4 filter is a softening and diffusion filter specifically designed to be invisible, as if no filtration were applied. Compared to other diffusion filters, this filter offers virtually no flare or loss of contrast for more subtle applications. It helps reduce facial blemishes, wrinkles and gently softens textured backgrounds while maintaining sharp focus. The 1/4 density offers less softening than the 1/2.
This filter is constructed from Water White glass and is manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 optical glass plates, polishing it flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, then mounting it on precision metal rings.
