Day-for-night photography is an effect that makes a scene recorded in broad daylight appear as if it had been shot at twilight. This effect is typically achieved through the use of a filter that underexposes by approximately two stops and can also produce a blue tint. Lighting, contrast and other factors contribute to the realism of this effect.
