The Tiffen 6.6 x 6.6" 3 Low Contrast filter reduces contrast across the entire image by creating slight controlled diffusion near highlight areas. This provides more detail in shadow areas whilst preserving highlight values, producing an apparent lower contrast. This filter is ideal for use in bright midday conditions and other high-contrast situations where it is difficult to control both overexposed highlights and underexposed shadows. Density 3 offers less contrast adjustment than density 4, but more than density 2 filter.

Tiffen filters are manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that laminates the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass and grinds it to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch. This filter measures 6.6 x 6.6" / 167.6 x 167.6mm.
