The Tiffen 6.6 x 6.6" Low Contrast 5 filter reduces contrast across the image by creating slight controlled diffusion near highlight areas. This allows more detail to be captured in shadow areas whilst maintaining highlight values, to produce an apparently lower contrast. This filter is ideal for use in bright midday light conditions and other high-contrast situations where it is difficult to control both overexposed highlights and underexposed shadows. Density 5 offers more contrast adjustment than the density 4 filter.

Tiffen filters are manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass and polishing it flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch. This filter measures 6.6 x 6.6" / 167.6 x 167.6 mm.
