The Tiffen Pro-Mist 1/2 6.6 x 6.6" filter helps to reduce highlight values whilst significantly decreasing overall contrast. This filter is particularly useful for softening and smoothing facial wrinkles and other imperfections. Although designed for cinematographic use, it can also be used for fashion and beauty applications. Unlike a traditional diffusion or blur filter, Pro-Mist filters preserve image detail. The 1/2 density offers more contrast and highlight reduction than the 1/4, but less than the 1, whilst allowing a soft, pastel light quality.

Tiffen filters are manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 plates of optical glass and polishing it to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch. This filter measures 6.6 x 6.6" / 167.6 x 167.6 mm.
