The Tiffen 95mm Coarse Thread Black Pro-Mist 1/8 filter helps reduce highlight values while slightly lowering overall contrast. This filter is particularly useful for softening and attenuating facial wrinkles and other imperfections. Although designed for cinematographic use, this filter can also be used for fashion and beauty applications. Unlike a traditional diffusion or blur filter, Pro-Mist filters preserve most of the image detail. The 1/8 density offers less contrast and highlight reduction than the 1/4, while providing a soft, pastel light quality.

Tiffen filters are manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding it flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, then mounting it on precision metal rings.
