The Tiffen Filter Wheel 1 Soft FX 1 filter diffuses strong light entering the lens and produces a luminous effect. Whilst the resulting image appears softer and more ethereal, there is little loss of clarity or detail. This filter works by diffusing light entering the lens with small aberrations; by distributing light more evenly, a soft glow is created rather than the sharp, well-defined image obtained when shooting without a filter. This filter has a level of 1. Levels 1/2, 2 and 3 are also available, with the effect of this type of filter becoming approximately twice as strong with each increase in level number.
