This filter is ideal for use at midday and other high-contrast lighting situations when it is difficult to control both overexposed highlights and underexposed shadows. Density 3 provides less contrast adjustment than density 4, but more than the density 2 filter. This filter is manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding it flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, then mounting it in precision metal rings.
