95mm Circular Polarising Filter for Mirage Matte Box
Clouds will gain depth and a stream will reveal its bed of stones when using the Tilta 95mm Circular Polarising Filter for Mirage Matte Box. It slides into the Mirage, or can be attached directly to a 95mm lens with the lightweight quick-release filter adapter (sold separately).
The polariser blocks light that appears as haze in the sky or as a reflection on the water's surface. Rotate the filter, manually or via an optional wireless motor, to find the angle that blocks unwanted light to the maximum, highlighting your subject and increasing the contrast of your image.
For Mirage Matte Box
This polariser slides perfectly into the Tilta Mirage, ensuring perfect coverage for a lens with a 95mm front diameter. It can also be attached directly to the lens via the lightweight quick-release filter adapter (sold separately).
Compatible with Wireless Motor
The module that controls the polariser rotation is compatible with the Tilta wireless motor (sold separately), allowing camera operators to remotely control the polariser rotation to find its maximum effect.
The Physics of Polarisers
Polarising filters filter light that has been polarised due to reflection off a non-metallic surface, such as when sunlight becomes partially polarised by reflecting off electrons in air molecules, causing light to scatter as haze. Using a polariser to block only these light rays allows for a noticeable reduction in reflections and glare on non-metallic surfaces and an increase in saturation of skies and foliage.
Autofocus and Exposure Control
Linear polarisers distort incoming light to the point that autofocus and internal light metering are negatively affected. To correct this, circular polarisers overlay a random filter layer behind the polariser to diffuse the light, allowing these camera functions to work properly.
Key Features
- Circular polarising filter
- Designed for Mirage Matte Box
- Wireless control via optional motor
- Compatible with lenses with 95mm front diameter
- Helps eliminate reflections and glare
- Reduces haze in landscapes
- Better colour and tone saturation
- Can use lightweight quick-release adapter
