The Tiffen 4 x 4" 1/2 Satin filter can be used to intentionally reduce the appearance of blemishes and wrinkles. This can be useful for creating a more flattering result of a subject whilst softening highlights, reducing contrast and giving textures a smoother appearance. Additionally, a halo effect around highlights is created, which can further enhance the appearance of a subject or produce a desired effect whilst maintaining overall sharpness. This filter has a grade of 1/2. Grades 1, 2 and 3 are also available, where the effect of this type of filter becomes approximately twice as strong with each increase in grade number. This filter is made from water white glass for increased clarity as well as colour fidelity.
