The Tiffen 6.6 x 6.6" Black Satin 4 filter can be used to intentionally reduce the appearance of blemishes and wrinkles whilst providing a desired warming effect with granularity across the entire image. This can be useful for creating a more flattering result of a subject whilst softening highlights, reducing contrast and giving textures a smoother appearance. Additionally, halos around highlights are created, which can further enhance a subject's appearance or produce a desired effect whilst maintaining overall sharpness. This filter has a grade of 4. Grades of 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 1, 2, 3 and 5 are also available, with the effect of this type of filter becoming approximately twice as strong with each increase in grade number. This filter is constructed from water white glass for increased clarity as well as colour fidelity.
