The Tiffen 55 mm UV Haze 1 Filter is a versatile clear filter that helps to absorb ultraviolet light and reduce the bluish tint of daylight. This filter is particularly useful when shooting at high altitude or near bodies of water. No additional colouration or contrast is added, allowing you to combine this filter with others.
The UV filter is also useful as a general protective filter to leave permanently on lenses. Filters help to reduce dust and moisture reaching your lens element and provide additional protection in the event of drops or situations where scratches could occur.
Tiffen filters are manufactured using ColorCore technology; a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding it flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, then mounting it on precision metal rings.
