The Tiffen 77mm Skylight 1-A filter is a general-purpose filter with a slight pink tint that helps improve overall colour accuracy and clarity. The light pink colouration helps reduce the overall bluish cast of daylight and is particularly effective for landscape photography and shooting in shade.
The Sky 1A filter is also useful as a general protective filter to leave permanently on lenses. Filters help reduce dust and moisture that could reach your lens and provide additional protection in case of drops or situations where scratches might occur.
Tiffen filters are manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding it to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, then mounting it on precision metal rings.
