The Tiffen 86mm UV Haze 1 filter is a versatile, clear filter that helps absorb ultraviolet light and reduces the bluish tint of daylight. This filter is particularly useful when photographing at high altitudes or near bodies of water. It adds no additional colouration or contrast, allowing it to be combined with other filters.
The UV filter is also useful as a general protective filter to leave permanently on lenses. Filters help reduce dust and moisture that could reach your lens element and offer additional protection in the event of drops or situations where scratches could occur.
Tiffen filters are manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 sheets of optical glass, grinding it flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, and then mounting it in precision metal rings.
