Tiffen 46mm Circular Polarising Filter
 
Tiffen 46mm Circular Polarising Filters - Reflected light rays become polarised. Polarising filters are used to select which light rays enter your camera lens. They can eliminate unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water or glass and also saturate colours, providing better contrast. The effect can be observed through the viewfinder and modified by rotating the filter. The filter factor varies according to the rotation of the filter and its orientation relative to the sun.
If you're out walking on a beautiful day - in the mountains or at the beach - and you want to capture a superb photo of a cloud-filled sky or make the water appear more saturated, then a polariser is the solution. This filter is the best way to make clouds stand out, increase or decrease the saturation of the ocean or increase or decrease reflection on water. You can also use this filter when photographing through glass or windows as it will, once again, allow you to increase or decrease reflections.
If you're photographing in black and white and want to simulate a threatening storm, try using a red #25 filter. The landscape will take on the appearance of an impending and threatening storm. 
Along with a UV or Skylight filter, a polarising filter should be part of everyone's equipment. It can transform an ordinary image into a creative and impressive photo by increasing colour saturation.  
Note: Circular polarisers are specifically designed for use with autofocus SLR cameras (they will also work without problems on manual systems)
