Tiffen 72mm Circular Polarising Filter
Tiffen 72mm Circular Polarising Filters - Reflected light rays become polarised. Polarising filters are used to select which light rays enter your camera lens. They can eliminate unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water or glass and also saturate colours, providing better contrast. The effect can be observed through the viewfinder and modified by rotating the filter. The filter factor varies according to the filter's rotation and its orientation relative to the sun.
If you are walking on a beautiful day - in the mountains or at the beach - and want to get a superb photo of a sky filled with clouds or make the water more saturated, then a polariser is the solution. This filter is the best way to bring out clouds, increase or decrease ocean saturation, or increase or decrease reflection on water. You can also use this filter when photographing through glass or windows, as it will again increase or decrease reflections.
If you are photographing in black and white and want to simulate a threatening storm, try adding a red #25 filter. The landscape will take on the appearance of an imminent and threatening tempest.
Along with a UV or Skylight filter, a polarising filter should be part of everyone's equipment. It can transform an ordinary image into a creative and stunning photograph by increasing colour saturation.
Note: Circular polarisers are specifically designed for use with autofocus SLR cameras (they will also work on manual systems without any problems)
