Tiffen #11 (1) Green Filter (46mm)
The Tiffen #11 Green (1) 46mm filter is a filter designed to create contrast in black and white photography. When using this filter for outdoor portraits, it will lighten skin tones and allow better separation between the subject and the background. For landscape photos, it helps darken the sky and lighten and show more detail in foliage. The filter has a filter factor of 4, so to compensate, you need to increase exposure by two stops.
Tiffen filters are not tinted, but are manufactured using ColorCore technology. This process laminates the filter material between two pieces of optical glass, then the glass is polished. The glass is then mounted to the metal ring, which can then be screwed onto the lens to achieve the desired effect.
