Tiffen #11 Green (1) Filter (52mm)
The Tiffen 52mm #11 Green (1) Filter is designed to enhance contrast in black and white photography. When used for outdoor portraits, it will lighten skin tones and improve separation between the subject and the background. For landscape photography, it will help to darken the sky and lighten foliage whilst revealing more detail. The filter has a factor of 4, so to compensate, you need to increase the exposure by two stops.
Tiffen filters are not dyed, but manufactured using ColorCore technology. This process laminates the filter material between two pieces of optical glass, then polishes the glass. The glass is then mounted on the metal ring, which can be screwed onto the lens to achieve the desired effect.
