Tiffen #11 (1) Green Filter (55mm)
The Tiffen #11 (1) 55mm green filter is designed to enhance contrast in black and white photography. When using this filter for outdoor portraits, it will lighten skin tones and improve separation between subject and background. For landscape photographs, it will help darken skies and lighten and show more detail in foliage. The filter has a filter factor of 4, so to compensate, you need to increase exposure by two stops.
Tiffen filters are not tinted, but manufactured using ColorCore technology. This process laminates the filter material between two pieces of optical glass, then the glass is ground and polished. The glass is then mounted on the metal ring, which can be screwed onto the lens to achieve the desired effect.
