Tiffen #11 Green (1) Filter (58mm)
The Tiffen #11 Green (1) 58mm Filter is a filter designed to enhance contrast in black and white photography. When using this filter for outdoor portraits, it will lighten skin tones and allow better separation between the subject and background. For landscape photographs, it will help to darken the sky and lighten and show more detail in foliage. The filter has a filter factor of 4, so to compensate, you must increase the exposure by two stops.
Tiffen filters are not tinted, but are manufactured using ColorCore technology. This process laminates the filter material between two pieces of optical glass, then the glass is polished and ground. The glass is then mounted on the metal ring, which can then be screwed onto the lens to achieve the desired effect.
