Tiffen #11 Green (1) Filter (62 mm)
The Tiffen 62 mm #11 Green (1) filter is a filter designed to enhance contrast in black and white photography. When used for outdoor portraits, it lightens skin tones and improves separation between the subject and background. For landscape photographs, it helps darken the sky and lighten and show more detail in foliage. The filter has a filter factor of 4, so to compensate, you need to increase exposure by two stops.
Tiffen filters are not tinted, but are manufactured using ColorCore technology. This process laminates the filter material between two pieces of optical glass, then the glass is polished and ground. The glass is then mounted on the metal ring, which can be screwed onto the lens to achieve the desired effect.
