The Tiffen #11 Green (1) 67 mm filter is a filter designed to increase contrast in black and white photography. When using this filter for outdoor portraits, it will lighten skin tones and provide better separation between the subject and background. For landscape photography, it will help darken the sky and lighten foliage whilst showing more detail. The filter has a filter factor of 4, so to compensate, you need to increase exposure by two stops.
Tiffen filters are not tinted but are manufactured using ColorCore technology. This process laminates the filter material between two pieces of optical glass, then the glass is polished. The glass is then mounted on the metal ring, which can be screwed onto the lens to achieve the desired effect.
