Tiffen 81A 72mm Light Balancing Filter
 
The Tiffen 81A 72mm light balancing filter allows you to reduce the colour temperature by 200K to slightly warm the image to match the colour quality of the lighting. By using an 81A filter, you can achieve a balance of 3200K when the dominant light source is 3400K. The warming effect of this filter requires an exposure increase of 0.3 stop to obtain normal results.
This filter is manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding it flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, then mounting it in precision metal rings.
- The light balancing filter reduces colour temperature and produces a warming effect.
- Subtracts 200K to obtain a colour balance of 3200K from 3400K lighting.
- The filter factor of 1.3 requires an exposure increase of 0.3 stop.
