Tiffen 77mm 81A Light Balancing Filter
The Tiffen 77mm 81A Light Balancing Filter helps to decrease the colour temperature by 200K to slightly warm the image to match the colour quality of the lighting. When using an 81A filter, you will be able to achieve a 3200K balance when the dominant light source is 3400K. The warming effect of this filter requires a 0.3-stop exposure increase to achieve normal results.
This filter is manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding it flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, then mounting it on precision metal rings.
- Light balancing filter decreases colour temperature and produces a warming effect.
- Subtracts 200K to achieve a colour balance of 3200K from 3400K lighting.
- Filter factor of 1.3 requires an exposure increase of 0.3 stops.
